... and here's the quick story of why I'm making Justard
In the summer of 2025, while browsing a Croatian grocery store, I saw it: mustard in a metal tube. Used to the typical squeeze bottles and glass jars back home, I was intrigued enough to buy it. The mustard was delicious, but what really stuck with me was the tube itself. Something about it just felt right.
Tubes aren't just packaging, they're protection. They keep air out, light out, and flavor in. Every squeeze is as fresh as the first. It's how mustard was meant to be stored. In fact, I think EVERYTHING should be stored in a tube, but we'll start with mustard.
When I returned home, I searched everywhere for tube mustards, but they were nearly impossible to find. So I decided to make my own. But I didn't want to settle for just any old mustard. I wanted to craft something truly unique. I wanted something that shows that mustard can be a full-fledged ingredient in your kitchen, not just a condiment you put on a hot dog (although mustard does go great on a hot dog!).
After months in the lab (the kitchen), I emerged with 3 unique, envelope-pushing flavors: miso-maple, apple-caraway, and orange-ginger. I've been having a lot of fun cooking with these mustards and eating them on just about everything, and I'm excited to share them with you.
All Justard products were produced in a home kitchen not inspected by a health department that may also process common food allergens. If you have safety concerns, contact your local health department.
